 The fan is a device that drives the wind. Fans are used to generate wind. The function of the fan is generally for air conditioning and air fresheners. The fan in English is Fan. The word fan (fan) comes from the Latin "Vannus" which means filtering the wind. The fan in Chinese is called pien-mien, which means to move the air. In Japanese, it is called Akomeogi which is used as a complement to the official dress of the nobility during the Heian period. Fans have been used from the first ages by the most primitive people. Fans are not only used as air conditioners, but are used to start fires.

 In Indonesia, fans are also an element of culture. The culture is fanning the bride and groom with a large fan made of bird feathers (imitation) or even beautiful and beautiful peacock feathers, the fan bearers are a pair of little girls who are dressed up and referred to as Broken Brides (especially in Java). In addition, there is also a fan called Tepas (Java). The fan is rectangular or square, made of woven bamboo and given a slightly long handle made of bamboo as well. This fan is usually used by satay craftsmen to make charcoal fires, and is used by rural communities who still use wood-fired stoves to light fires
